Killer and quite scarce 1980s vintage Budweiser lighted sign. These were only distributed to select, high volume Budweiser retailers in the Chicago area. Measures approx 18" square x 5" deep. Constructed of a plastic sign cabinet with a translucent plastic sign face. Illuminated by a fluorescent tube with starter and transformer and works well.
It takes a few seconds to ignite when first turned on, which is normal for the older fluorescent fixtures. There is a pull cord type switch on the rear to turn on or off. The item displays very nicely but does show areas of wear and tear and patina from age and use.
There is a small crack on the top corner, which is very hard to notice when displayed. There are various scratches to the sign face, which are not noticeable when illuminated, but can be observed when it is off. There is an imperfection near the top center of the sign face. Again, cannot be observed when illuminated. The mounting holes on the rear were elongate, so I installed bolts and nuts and washers, along with a vintage piece of jack chain, which makes mounting a snap. The ground prong on the plug is missing, so the plug should be replaced for safety.
