Vintage Richie Ashburn Adirondack Game Used Bat Lamp Philadelphia Phillies HOF
Vintage Richie Ashburn Adirondack Game Used Bat Lamp as pictured. This is a great item that could use some research.
We were told by a relative of the original owner that this is a game used bat. It was a gift in the 1950's and the owner made a lamp out of it. Both ends of the bat were cut and the lamp cord goes through the middle of the bat. The bat piece measures almost 14 long. The lamp should be rewired before use as it appears to be 100% original.
It's been in storage for a few years and the original lamp shade was lost. We have not cleaned it. You can see it's a little dusty. If it doesn't sell, we will likely rewire the lamp and add a Phillies red lampshade and use it in our office. It is a super cool piece. Richie Ashburn is a legend in Philadelphia and vintage bats are almost impossible to find. We don't know if this is a game used bat or not. We have no documentation supporting the story we were told by the relative of the original owner. We could not find a similar Ashburn bat anywhere on the web. It is definitely a rare bat. Let us know if you have any questions.
