Vintage Early Baseball Flapless Batting Helmet ABC Fiberglass 1950s 60s Carved
This is an amazing and unique piece of baseball history. The helmet still has the original liner/headband intact. The entire exterior is covered in carvings.
Names, phrases and the player's number "23". "MD, KP, DE, FUG, C6, JG 12, HAUL ASS, LIZARD, ROD O'NEIL, COLD CAMPIN, RC, SPAZ, RM, MS, Juice, GET OFF". These helmets are very difficult to find. The entire helmet shows considerable wear and tear from use, including damage. The bill has chipped off sections all along the brim. One side has a small section of fiberglass missing. There are stress fractures and cracks in several areas. The paint texture has bubbled in several areas.
Despite all of this damage, the helmet does still feel solid. Lots of wear but tells a great story. 7 1/8 exterior measurement of the temple to temple diameter. 8 7/8 exterior measurememt of the forehead to back of head diameter.
