Vintage 24oz blacksmith cross peen hammer custom JESSE REED baseball bat handle

Now back to the business, This hammer is approx. 16 inches long roughly 2 pounds total weight (the head is a 24 ozer)........

The head on this hammer is in great shape with no damage such as cracks, major chips, pits or rust, it has a really awesome rat rod type shape to her, just a neat old hammer head with a super classic shape and feel........ I polished this whole hammer head to a nice mirror like finish (shes not chromed or nickel plated) on all the hammer faces and peen faces and left all of the factory casting and age marks down in the valleys.........

For what its worth this is a Plumb head, the logo was almost all gone and I decided to polish the sides instead of leaving an unlegible makers mark, if there were a DNA test to prove shes a Plunb shed pass with flying colors.... All in all this is a very cool hammer that feels good in the hand and has a great rebound......... The handle is all hand made and hand turned by me here at the world famous "Uncle Pimpys Axe Palace " here in Springfield Oregon, home of the Original baseball bat handled tools on my old school 1940's wood lathe.....

This handle is made out of Ash, just like real bats and I added a few of my signature inlaid aluminum dots for added style and class.... I set the head using both wood wedges and epoxy and got a nice tight fit that looks good on both the top and bottom.............. I sanded the handle silky smooth, gave her a flame job, blacked her out even more with the top secret demon juice and then used several coats of boiled linseed oil for the final finish..... I do combine when ever possible....
