This bat is a rare, uncommon variation of the Louisville Slugger Hillerich & Bradsby Co, 40 B. However, during this time period where these changes were going on in the branding there were a limited number of bats produced with the Trade Mark Reg U. Pat Off" marking AND Powerized alone versus the "Powerized and Oil Tempered which is the common branding for this time period. I started doing research on this bat as for several years I had tried to find one with the exact markings seen on this bat, i. Both the Trade Mark Reg U. Pat Off under the oval AND only Powerized and had never seen one with these exact markings. The results of those inquiries are as above and that this is a rare and uncommon variation. I have included many pictures. The bat has some dings and scuffs but the markings are clear. There is a chip missing on the side of the knob (see pictures), but otherwise the bat has no breaks or repairs or nails or cracks. It is stamped 36 on the knob to indicate length which they did on all store model bats. There is residue from a grip on the handle as seen in the pictures. I have never tried to clean this or do anything to it. We will consider all offers.
