1968 Topps Baseball / #2 AL Batting / Yastrzemski & Robinson & Kaline / Vintage
Thank you for your interest in Bighorn Cards & Collectibles. Please feel free to ask any questions. Cards will be placed inside a card sleeve (Clear for Sports Cards & Matte for Gaming Cards) and then inside a 3x4 top loader. The sleeved and top-loaded card(s) will then be sealed inside a resealable card bag. Unless otherwise noted, all raw cards 1987 and after are listed with the grading possibility condition of Near Mint (7), Near Mint Mint (8), Mint (9), or Gem Mint (10).
A NM (7) is a card with slight surface wear only visible upon close inspection. There may be slight fraying on corners and picture focus may be slightly off. A minor printing blemish is acceptable. Slight staining on the back is also acceptable. The original gloss is mostly retained and centering must be 70/30 to 75/25 on the front and 90/10 or better on the back.
A NM-MT (8) is a high-end card that appears Mint (9) at first glance. Upon closer inspection, the card may exhibit the following: a slight wax stain on the back, slight fraying at either one or two of the corners, a minor printing imperfection, with borders slightly off-white.
Centering must be approximately 65/35 to 70/30 on the front and 90/10 or better on the back. A Mint (9) is a card in a superior condition that exhibits only one of the following minor flaws: a slight wax stain on the back, a minor printing imperfection, with borders slightly off-white.
Centering must be approximately 60/40 to 65/35 on the front and 90/10 or better on the back. A Gem Mint (10) card is practically a perfect card. All four corners are perfectly sharp, with the front of the card in razor-sharp focus and full original gloss. No staining of any kind must be present, but a slight printing imperfection is acceptable if it doesn't impair the overall appeal of the card.
Centering must be approximately 55/45 to 60/40 on the front and 75/25 on the back. Unless otherwise noted, all raw cards before 1986 are listed with the grading possibility condition of Fair/Good (2), Very Good (3), Very Good Excellent (4), Excellent (5), or Excellent-Mint (6) or better (see Modern Card Conditions).
A Fair/Good (2) card's surface wear is becoming obvious and the corners show rounding. A good card may have light staining, scuffing, scratching, or enamel chipping. There may be several creases and the original gloss may be completely absent. There may be discoloration and the centering must be 90/10 or better on the front and back. A VG (3) card will have some corner rounding, some surface wear, along with light scuffing or scratches.
Focus may be off-register and edges might have noticeable wear. Most but not all of the original gloss will be lost. Borders may be discolored and/or yellowed with a visible crease.
Printing defects are possible and a slight stain may show with wax staining on the back. Centering must be 90/10 or better on front and back.
A VG-EX (4) card may have slightly rounded corners with noticeable but modest surface wear. Some original gloss will be intact and light scuffing or scratches may be visible. Borders may be off-white slightly and a light crease may be visible. Centering must be 85/15 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back. A EX (5) card will have minor rounding on the corners. Surface printing defects and wear are more visible. There may be minor chipping on edges and the loss of the original gloss will be more apparent.
The focus of the picture may be slightly out of register with several light scratches only visible upon close inspection. There may be some off-white borders and centering must be 85/15 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back. A EX-MT (6) card might have visible surface wear and a printing defect that does not detract from the overall appeal. A very light scratch may be detected but only with a close inspection. The corners may have slight fraying and the picture focus might be slightly out of register. The card might show some loss of the original gloss and have a minor stain on the back. Very slight notching on the edges and show some off-whiteness on the borders. Centering must be 80/20 or better on the front and 90/10 or better on the back.
