From the early 1960's. Middle Brand Reads: "Louisville Slugger" , 125 Hillerich & Bradsby Co.
" made in USA Barrel end reads: "Genuine, Bill Kunkle, Louisville Slugger. Measures 35 in Length & approx. 3 wide, at widest end of Bat there is a repaired surface crack near Grip end. It had been taped over at some point. This is shown in close-up photos.
Well-done repair & it's hardly noticable.. Bat is still strong & sturdy. Please refer to the pictures below, for all the specifics.. In November 1962, Kunkel was again a Rule 5 draft selectee, this time by the New York Yankees. With the 1963 Yankees, he made 22 relief appearances with a 32 record and 2.72 ERA in 46 13 innings pitched.
Kunkel was on the Yankees' roster for the 1963 World Series. Overall, Kunkel appeared in MLB during three seasons, compiling a 66 record, 4.29 ERA, 83 strikeouts, and 49 walks in 142 23 innings pitched.
