Vintage Heller blacksmith hammer maul axe custom JESSE REED baseball bat handle

Up for grabs is a really cool old Heller blacksmith hot cut type hammer head I had a little fun with and made a handle for..... This is all in all a rad hammer that is sharp and has a nice weight and feel in the hand..... This is a very well built old head that is made out of killer quality steel........ Clearly shes seen use but it created a look that just cant be faked...... Now back to the business, This hammer is approx. 16 inches long and roughly 2 pounds total weight.............. I cleaned all of the loose dirt off of this head to expose the natural steel and polished the maul type end and hammer face................ This hammer is sharp and great care should be used when opening the parcel when she arrives, I cant stress enough that this hammer not a toy.................

All in all this is a very cool hatchet that feels good in the hand and has a great rebound......... The handle is all hand made and hand turned by me here at the world famous "Uncle Pimpys Axe Palace " here in Springfield Oregon, home of the Original baseball bat handled tools..... This handle is made out of one solid piece of Hickory...... I carved some of MY signature half round beads into the grip area for added grip, style and class........

I blacked out the grip beaded area for a nice contrast of colors............ I set the head using both wood wedges and epoxy and got a nice tight fit that looks good on both the top and bottom.............. I sanded the handle silky smooth and then used several coats of clear enamel for the final finish..... I do combine when ever possible.... Cheaper on you and easier on me....
