THIS IS A VINTAGE GAME USED HOF HALL OF FAMER REGGIE JACKSON MODEL K75 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER. THE LOUISVILLE STAMP PUTS IT 1965-72 H&B RECORDS INDICATE HE ONLY ORDERED THIS MODEL BETWEEN 67-71. IT'S A REGGIE JACKSON HILLERICH AND BRADSBY 125 LOUISVILLE SLUGGER PROFESSIONAL MODEL K75. ASH BAT- 35 LONG AND 34OZ. 95% OF THESE K75 HE ORDERED DURING THIS TIME WERE 35.5" AND 5% WERE 35" AS THIS BAT IS. ON 5-17-68 H&B RECORDS SHOW REGGIE JACKSONS PERSONAL ORDER FOR 12 MODEL K75 ASHBATS AT 35 LONG - 34OZ - FB (FLAME BURNED) AS THIS BAT IS. THE BAT HAS THE NUMBER 9 UNDERLINED IN BLACK FELT PEN ON THE KNOB - AS HE DID WITH HIS BATS DURING THIS PERIOD. THE BAT HAS REGGIE JACKSONS SIGNATURE ON THE BARREL IN RED MARKER. IT'S A LARGE EARLY REGGIE JACKSON SIGNATURE (SEE PICTURES, EXPLAINED LATER). THE BAT IS CRACKED IN THE HANDLE. THERE IS TAPE OVER THE CRACK (SEE PICTURES , EXPLAINED LATER). THIS BAT COMES FROM THE ESTATE OF AN ASU PROFESSOR , JACOB "JACK" FUCHS.
HE WOULD HAVE BEEN PRESENT DURING JACKSONS YEARS THERE AND WAS WELL KNOWN FOR HIS LOVE AND AFFILIATION WITH / OF ASU SPORTS. GARY , JACK'S SON , PASSED IN 2020. THIS BAT , AND OTHER MEMORIBILIA FROM GARY'S DAYS AS AN ASU BAT BOY WERE OFFERED. UPON SPEAKING TO OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS AND MY OWN RESEARCH, GARY WAS VERY INVOLVED AT A YOUNG AGE AS BEING THE BATBOY FOR ASU AND HAD A STRONG PASSION FOR BASEBALL. HE EVEN WENT TO THE 1969 WORLD SERIES AS THE BATBOY FOR ASU.
IT'S NOT THE SAME AS THE WELL SCRIPTED , PRACTICED, TIME TAKEN SIGNATURE THAT REGGIE DEVELOPED OVER THE YEARS. THIS WAS A RUSH , IN THE DUGOUT , PROBABLY MAD AT THE CRACKED BAT SIGNATURE LOL. BUT IT'S IN RED , IT'S BIG , IT'S A LITTLE LIGHT. I HAVE NOT SENT THESE ITEMS OUT FOR PSA AS IT IS COSTLY AND WITH THE PROVENANCE , I DIDN'T REALLY FEEL A NEED.
