Vintage Pee Wee Reese Brooklyn / Los Angeles Dodgers Decal Baseball Bat. Appears to be made by J. Higgins and constructed from hickory wood. Original vintage wooden baseball bat featuring Pee Wee Reese, one of the most iconic figures in Dodgers history. Old gouch with a period repair.
Shows wear, scratches, marks & chips. The bat shows overall wear consistent with age and use. Decal wear is significant but original with great appeal. He missed three seasons serving in the U. Reese and Jackie Robinson were best friends, and Reese famously put his arm around Robinson during a pregame warmup amid racial abuse.
He also refused to sign a petition against Robinson, becoming a lasting symbol of unity and character over color while helping break baseball's color barrier. A great early Dodgers collectible with strong display presence.
